Missouri Alternatives to Abortion Services Program
The Missouri Alternatives to Abortion Services Program is available to pregnant women in Missouri making less than 185% of the federal poverty level.
The program offers the following services free of charge to women during pregnancy through the child’s first birthday.
- Case management
- Childcare co-payment, childcare registration fees, and other childcare fees
- Domestic abuse protection
- Drug and alcohol testing and treatment
- Educational services
- Establishing and promoting responsible paternity
- Parenting skills
- Food, clothing, supplies related to pregnancy, newborn care, and parenting
- Housing and utilities
- Job training and placement
- Prenatal care and ultrasound services
- Medical and mental health care
- Transportation

Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies
Healthy Moms, Health Babies connects women to quality healthcare and a wide variety of supportive resources that provide healthy, successful pregnancy and post-partum experiences for both mom and baby. The organization is co-sponsored by DSS, MO Healthnet, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Missouri Department of Mental Health, Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies helps pregnant women:
- Apply for healthcare, childcare, SNAP, WIC and more
- Explore advice on every stage of pregnancy and beyond
- Get breast pumps, cribs, diapers, gift cards, etc.
- Learn with mobile apps, videos, and newsletters
- Find treatment for substance use, depression, and more
- Find safety resources for women and children
MO HealthNet
MO HealthNet is Missouri is Missouri Medicaid (free healthcare for Missouri citizens with income less than specific levels), specifically for pregnant women. MO HealthNet covers healthcare during pregnancy and 12 months after delivery.

Show-Me Healthy Babies (SMHB) Program
The Show-Me Healthy Babies (SMHB) Program is offered through the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS).
The program helps infants get a healthy start by offering free healthcare coverage to preborn babies and their mothers such as:
- Healthcare coverage to preborn children and their mothers
- Pregnancy care, such as doctor visits and prenatal vitamins
- Healthcare coverage for the child from birth up to one year of age
- Pregnancy-related care for mothers up to 60 days after giving birth.
This may include:
1. Home visits
2. Breastfeeding help
3. Electric breast pump
